The annual Arthur Pilla Young Scientist Award was introduced at the BioEM2016 meeting and will again be awarded at BioEM2017, the joint annual meeting of BEMS and EBEA. The award is sponsored by the The Arthur A. Pilla Research Foundation in memory of our friend and colleague.
The Arthur Pilla Young Scientist Award will be awarded to the best presentation by a young scientist at the BioEM Meeting. Any presentations (Platform & Poster) at the BioEM meeting by “young scientists” may be entered for this award. The “young scientist” must be the first author on the research and must present the talk or poster. To be qualified as a “young scientist” for the Arthur Pilla Young Scientist Award, the candidate must have received a PhD no more than 5 years prior to the opening date of the BioEM meeting.
So, if you’re a qualified “young scientist” and wish to be considered for this award, please send a copy of your PhD certificate to firstname.lastname@example.org by 19 May 2017. Also indicate the title of the presentation you wish to enter for this award. Only one presentation may be entered per individual.
The prize consists of a certificate and an award of US$1200, so get your entry in soon. Note that winner of the EBEA Chiabrera award will not be allowed to enter for this award.
