Lab technician position - Frank Reidy Research Center for Bioelectrics, Norfolk, VA

The position is available in Dr. Pakhomov’s lab, to support research in cell biology and bioelectrics. The position requires experience in general laboratory techniques (cell culture, biochemistry, preparation and handling of buffers and biological samples) and familiarity with biochemical and biophysical methods. Successful candidate will assume responsibilities of lab management including timely ordering of chemicals and supplies, maintaining general order and their storage in the lab, biohazard and regular trash disposal, repairs, shipping and handling, etc. The employee will assist the PI and other personnel in various tasks as required for research, including but not limited to preparation of experiments and data analyses, and participation in research using translational or preclinical models. B.S. or M.S. in biology or related discipline and a minimum of one year of lab expertise are required.
